Given the continued growth of players within the payments ecosystem and changes in the use of numeric assets such as Bank Identification Numbers (BINs) and account ranges, it is more important than ever to ensure our partners are using Visa-supplied data to route and process transactions correctly. Acquirers and Third party processors must continue to use the Visa-distributed routing and account range (ARDEF via Edit Package) tables for authorization and clearing routing. Please do not use the Simplified BIN account table for authorization processing.
Important Terms of Usage for the Visa Simplified BIN Account range table:
- The Visa Simplified BIN Account Range Table contains up-to-date valid issuing account ranges for India issued cards and tokens.
- The table is provided for merchants and payment third party agents to accurately identify India issued cards for promotions, offers, interchange/MDR calculations or for regulatory reporting.
- BINs are assigned, released or modified regularly and the ownership and/or attributes of a BIN may change from time to time. The BIN file is refreshed weekly on Visa website. The user agrees to refresh the entire BIN table, and not just update the incremental BINs at the time of such refresh.
- Use of incorrect or outdated tables may result in unnecessary declines and misrouting of transactions, in addition to higher reconciliation costs.
